Signing ceremony of agreement on the establishment of Institut Pasteur Korea (Dec. 29, 2003)

On 29 Dec, 2003, with the support of Ministry of Science & Technology (Current: Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning), Institut Pasteur and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST) agreed to establish Institut Pasteur Korea (IPK). For 13 years, IPK has been at the forefront of drug discovery and has contributed to Korea’s future scientific resources through research, education and technological innovation. Some of IPK’s research and business realizations include the discovery of Q203 (first-in-class tuberculosis drug candidate) and spinning off the startup Qurient (biotech company trading on KOSDAQ).
