Research Interests

We are investigating emerging and re-emerging viruses. Due to the current global burden of COVID-19, most of our recent research activities have been focused on investigation of coronaviruses including SARS-CoV-2 and MERS-CoV. But, we are also interested in others including severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) and dengue virus. Ultimately, we aim to better understand the viruses and to develop therapeutic interventions such as small molecule inhibitors and monoclonal antibodies in order to control these viral infectious diseases.
