Research & Technology
The Applied Molecular Biochemistry Laboratory (AMBL) is committed to advancing the diagnostic and drug discovery initiatives of the institute. Our dual mission is underpinned by a strong core expertise, drawing on a deep understanding of microbiology, virology, and extensive knowledge in biochemistry, molecular biology, and cell biology techniques. By carefully selecting pathogenic molecular targets, we develop robust molecular assays that are crucial for both diagnostics and therapeutic discovery, addressing both national and international healthcare challenges.
Our capabilities/assets include:
• Establishment of Target-Based Biochemical & Cellular Assays: Developing robust biochemical & cellular assays for various pathogens to enable high-throughput screening of anti-infective therapeutics.
• Development of Diagnostic Kits: Creating diagnostic kits based on target proteins derived from Escherichia coli, Drosophila, or mammalian cells.
• Validation of Infectious Disease Assays: Conducting rigorous validation of cellular infectious assays in BSL-2+ and BSL-3 laboratories.
