[2016 Event] Visit of Dr. Francoise Barre-Sinoussi on Nov. 25, 2016

On 25 Nov., Dr. Francoise Barre-Sinoussi, Institut Pasteur's 9th Nobel Laureate, visited Institut Pasteur Korea (IPK) and met with scientists and researchers. She paid special attention to the young researchers and Ph.D students at IPK, to help them understand what it takes to be a career researcher. She shared her research background and experiences as well as the scientific journey that led to the Nobel prize. She also delivered a strong message and vision on the importance of future  disease research plans and strategies.
 
The Institut Pasteur International Network consists of 33 institutions world-wide with over 20,000 Pasteurians striving to excel in research for our health and future. Since the Institut Pasteur was founded in 1887, ten Institut Pasteur scientists have been the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. Dr. Françoise Barré-Sinoussi shares the 2008 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine  with Dr. Luc Montagnier for the discovery of the human immunodeficiency virus, HIV in 1983.
