TALK TITLE
Animal venom biomolecules: Tools for oncogenesis study and targeted therapy against cancers
ABSTRACT
The anticancer activities of scorpion and snakes venoms have been reported, both in vitro and in vivo. We showed that these venoms are rich in analog molecules of various compounds that already displayed effect against different cancer cell lines. Some peptides are yet purified and characterized in the laboratory of venoms and therapeutic biomolecules. Of the known molecules including KAaH1, KAaH2, H9, H8 and P01 from Androctonus autralis Hector have shown inhibiting activity on the hallmarks of U87, LS174 or MDA-MB- 231 cancer cells. Today’s presentation will focus on some of these biological effects and promising uses of the venom.
