• Position: Data Scientist in Antibacterial Resistance Laboratory

▷ Overall Responsibilities and Outline of Position

Antibacterial Resistance Laboratory (ARL) in Institut Pasteur Korea aims to discover novel antibacterial agents using high throughput screening (HTS) system and identify new targets and biomarkers investigating bacterial physiology and antibiotic resistance of major pathogenic bacteria.
The selected candidate is expected to mainly work on developing artificial intelligence (AI) models to predict bacterial physiology based on bacterial omics data or image data. The candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing data to understand antibiotic resistance mechanisms and discovering novel targets.

▷ Qualifications

[Essential]

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics, Computational Biology, or a related field (For B.S. degree holders, 2+ years of relevant practical/research experience is preferred).
• Experience in AI model development (Machine Learning/Deep Learning) and data analysis projects.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R and AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Self-motivated, sincere, and a person of integrity.

[Desirable]

• Experience in analyzing and modeling biological data (e.g., omics data such as bacterial genomes/transcriptomes or image data like microscopic images).
• Experience in developing multi-modal data integration models.
• Experience collaborating and communicating with researchers in bio/pharma/medical fields.
• Experience in writing research papers or patents.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.
