On April 11, Dr. Vincent Delorme was interviewed by Arirang TV about, “Pasteur research team develops a compound that could revert tuberculosis drug resistance.”

In this news clip, Dr. Delorme explains a recent research collaboration that resulted in the discovery of a new molecule called Small Molecule Aborting Resistance (SMARt-420) published in Science Magazine.

When tested on mice, Smart-420 significantly reduced the bacterial load in their lungs three weeks after infection.

Based on these positive results, the next phase is to conduct clinical trials on humans to ultimately create a Smart-420 drug that will help eradicate tuberculosis.
