At the 7th Seoul Global Drug Discovery Forum, Mr. John Watson of Institut Pasteur Korea noted Korea has enjoyed increased international status and travel, however Korea has also, “suffered from a different infectious disease every year for the past 10 years.” He added “in the context of increased infectious disease, Korean Pharmaceuticals need to develop preventive measures.  Following MERS, the fear of a mass outbreak of disease is top of mind.”  Mr. Watson also pointed out, “in order to prevent infectious diseases, prevention and in-hospital quarantine need to be improved.
