◆ Dr. Hakim Djaballah, CEO of Institut Pasteur Korea, is launching an epidemiologic investigation and preparing countermeasures in cooperation with the World Health Organization against MERS.  Mr. Djaballah stressed the importance of the Korean government educating and training the public and health-care providers on how to prevent the spread of infectious disease like MERS. He added “information on prevention shouldn’t be only for medical teams.  It should be shared by the government, in schools and at public facilities, anywhere where people could be exposed must be included.” He added, “the central government and provincial governments need to take preemptive action on infectious diseases like MERS.”
