Institut Pasteur Korea Held the 1st Research Strategy Advisory Committee Meeting

Dr. Youngmee Jee, the Institut Pasteur Korea(IPK) CEO, held the 1st Research Strategy Advisory Committee (hereinafter referred to as RSAC) Meeting on Mar. 3 with domestic experts in the field of drug development for infectious diseases.

The RSAC meeting, attended by six leading experts in infectious diseases and drug development, aimed to discuss strategies for the IPK to expand domestic research cooperation further and contribute to strengthening the research base for infectious diseases in Korea by utilizing its core drug discovery capabilities.

Based on the analysis of the R&D capabilities and the operation status of IPK, such as research portfolio, infrastructure specialized for drug discovery, and cooperation network, the RSAC suggested various ways for IPK to serve as an infectious disease research institute in Korea, strengthen its research capabilities, and expand the network with domestic and foreign research institutes.

This meeting was meaningful as various advice and insights of the domestic experts leading infectious disease research on the direction towards IPK’s development were shared, and I will listen carefully and reflect the discussions of today into the IPK’s operation and research strategies,” said Dr. Jee. She added, “IPK will continue to communicate and strengthen cooperation with domestic researchers to reinforce its role as a pivotal center of domestic and global infectious disease research and drug development."
