The diagnostic test specialists of Green Cross Laboratories visited Institut Pasteur Korea.
On Mar. 11, five medical doctors of the Green Cross Laboratories (GC Lab.), including Dr. Jeong-Ok Kang, the Advisor of the Clinical Diagnostic Test Department, and Dr. Un Young Ko, the Head of Infectious Disease Research Center, visited Institut Pasteur Korea. Dr. Youngmee JEE, the Institut Pasteur Korea(IPK) CEO, discussed research cooperation in infectious diseases with the diagnostic test specialists from the GC Lab and provided a tour of the institute's R&D infrastructure.
GC Labs is Korea’s leading clinical laboratory that enables patients to receive an accurate diagnosis and right treatment by providing clinical and anatomic pathology reference testing and unrivaled quality results.
Dr. Sangchul Lee, head of the Strategic Planning Team of IPK, introduced the institute's core capabilities and achievements, such as the drug discovery screening platform and the in-house developed novel hepatitis B virus cell culture platform. The visitors then looked around the laboratories and infrastructures, including the screening platform, the exterior of the Bio-safety level 3 laboratory, and the compound room, during which researchers provided a detailed explanation of each.

In particular, the diagnostic test specialists noted that the automated high-throughput and high-content screening platforms being operated in the Biosafety level 2 & 3 laboratories enable the effective study of high-risk pathogens and identification of drug candidates.
We hope this meeting will lead to various collaborations in the field of infectious diseases between IPK and GC Lab.!
