for participants of Myongji Hospital
'2024 Lee Jong-wook Fellowship’ 

On August 7, Institut Pasteur Korea conducted an invited infectious disease expert training program for participants of the Myongji Hospital 'Lee Jong-Wook Fellowship’ supported by KOFIH.

The Lee Jong-wook Fellowship Program is a training program designed to invite the global healthcare workforce from partner countries in order to build their competence.


This training session welcomed 22 participants from six countries across Asia and Africa, including Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, and Cambodia.

During the program, the research team from IPK delivered lectures on the Global Infectious Disease Specimen Bank (GISB),  screening discovery platform, dengue virus and the diagnosis of malaria. The session also included a lab tour of the IPK's infectious disease research infrastructure, such as biosafety level 2 and 3 laboratory facilities (BSL-2,3) and the Virus Research Resource Center.

Institut Pasteur Korea continues to support the advancement of medical capabilities and the development of healthcare systems in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
