2017-02-01
Pangyo, Gyeonggi, 1 Feb, 2017 | On 23 Feb, Institut Pasteur Korea (IPK) and Korea University of Science and Technology (UST) will host an open house to give prospective Biological Chemistry masters and doctoral candidates interested in career paths in infectious diseases a chance to get familiar with IPK’s academic community, the 2017 autumn semester curriculum, and campus.

During the open house, candidates will be provided important information on admission and IPK professors will introduce their research areas and 2017 autumn semester focus. Additionally, potential candidates will have the opportunity check out IPK’s high-technology learning labs that integrate technology into the curriculum, as well as, network with their peers.

The UST-IPK masters and doctoral courses are dynamic, hands-on, research and discovery (R&D) focused education programs designed for students interested in infectious disease research and drug discovery. Currently, IPK has 6 UST faculty members that are experts in cellular quantitative biology, molecular virology and drug discovery. Their research areas include a wide range from viruses, to parasite, to cancer. Students will interact closely with professors and research staff, and opportunities exist for students to participate in active research while pursuing degrees tailored to their interests.

IPK was established in April 2004 in collaboration with Institut Pasteur Paris and the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), with support from the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP). IPK is a member of the Institut Pasteur International Network (Network). As a hub institution, IPK plays a key role in the Network, serving as a bridge between Korea and global bio-pharma science, expanding Korea's R&D base collaborative research projects with global alliances

Founded in 2004, UST aims to foster highly qualified R&D professionals in the field of new convergence technology through on-site R&D education. Currently, UST has 33 member campus.
