The members of Economy, Science & Technology Committee of Gyoenggi Provincial Assembly visited Institut Pasteur Korea on Feb. 9, 2015.

Feb. 9, 2015, Gyeonggi, Rep. of Korea ……………….. The members of Economy, Science & Technology Committee of Gyoenggi Provincial Assembly visited Institut Pasteur Korea as a part of the field trip to provincial related organizations.

The council first learned about the role of Institut Pasteur Korea and its achievements for the past 10 years including the discovery of first-in-class Tuberculosis drug candidate. Then, then had a chance to look around the bio-imaging based drug discovery platforms of the institute as well as its innovative research infrastructures in biology, chemistry and IT laboratories.

Seven council members, including the chairman Dong Hwa Lee, Oh Hwan Ko, Seung Nam An, Gil Seob Kim, Kwang Ju Cho, Sung Hwan Bang and Sok Woo Hong, have joined the trip.

Institut Pasteur Korea is a not-for-profit private organization based in Gyeonggi Province, Korea. It was established in 2004 by an agreement between Institut Pasteur and the Korea Institute of Science and Korean government with financial support from the Korean Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning and Gyeonggi Province. The strategic focus of the institute is in the area of infectious disease research utilizing its proprietary technology platforms built on integration of the latest technologies in biology, IT and chemistry and global research know-hows.
