Institut Pasteur Korea Holds ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ Ceremony

Institut Pasteur Korea (CEO: Ulf Nehrbass, www.ip-korea.org) announced that it selected Min-seok Kim as the grand award winner and Kee-hoon Jung and Hyun-uk Kim as the award of excellence winners for the 1st ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ .

At the ceremony of ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ held at ‘The 1st Institut Pasteur Korea International Symposium’ with 250 researchers in attendance, Ulf Nehrbass, CEO of Institut Pasteur Korea and Elisabeth Laurin, French Ambassador of The French Embassy in Korea presented the awardees.

Sponsored by French Embassy and sponsored by Ministry of Education, Science & Technology, the ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ is designed to encourage young scientists to develop their innovative ideas and original approaches. Korean science & technology is sure to benefit from greater originality of ideas and creativity among the science & technology community.

The final winners of ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ were selected in recognition of their innovative ideas and original approaches in life science and potential significance to public healthcare via a strict 3-phase blind review process, including document screening, presentation & interview and external review committee evaluation.

Dr Minseok Kim of KAIST, the grand award winner said, “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Prof. Je-kyun Park, Prof. Eun-sook Lee and many others to help my studies, and will step forward life science researches which can be of help for people”. “In addition, I appreciate Institut Pasteur Korea which provides the opportunity seeing more of world class Biotechnology Institute via the visit and training course at IP-Paris”, added he.

Winners are rewarded via cash prize and medal, plus support for a visit to Institut Pasteur Paris followed by an Institut Pasteur Korea Internship and/or Educational opportunities at Institut Pasteur Paris Teaching Lab course.

We hope that this program help young scientists inspired by Louis Pasteur’ spirit and they may also contribute to breakthroughs in various scientific research areas”

Institut Pasteur Korea plans to conduct ‘Young Pasteurian Award’ annually and continues to support young scientists in life science.
