Institut Pasteur Korea Conducts ‘IPK Life Science Education’ Program
- Foreign/domestic experts educate biotechnology & drug discovery in English
- Field-learnings are expected to help cultivate global science brains in Korea
June 28, 2009, Seoul, S. Korea ? Institut Pasteur Korea (CEO: Ulf Nehrbass, www.ip-korea.org), a growing global translational research institute will conduct the ‘IPK Life Science Education’ program to young students from June 30, as a part of ‘Gyeonggi Science Mentor’ program.
This ‘IPK Life Science Education’ is a mentoring program differentiated with the education of Life Science & Drug Discovery in English by taking advantage of the excellent experts and infra at Pasteur Institut, a world class biotechnology institute. It is designed to reinforce youths’ interests and education on science as well as up-bring global science brains in Korea.
At the program conducted once a month from this June to January 2010 targeting 20 middle school students in Gyeonggi province, foreign and Korean experts currently working at Institut Pasteur Korea will provide an instruction to students and share their experiences in the real world.
In addition, the program consists of various learning programs which include the basic education of lectures and experiments at the field areas, fieldwork and on-the-spot-study, case study presentation.

‘IPK Life Science Education’ is implemented as a part of ‘Gyeonggi Science Mentor’ program, which is designed to build scientific thoughts by enhancing interests on science technology and develop creativity capacities. At the mentoring program, seniors such as professors, researchers and engineers become mentors to educate junior students through various learning methods for some period.
