Institut Pasteur Korea is Nominated for 2009 World Technology Award for Biotechnology

Seoul, S. Korea, July 19, 2009 ? In recognition for its innovation to accelerate drug discovery, Institut Pasteur Korea (CEO: Ulf Nehrbass, www.ip-korea.org) has been nominated for the ‘2009 World Technology Award’ for Biotechnology, in the corporate category.

The World Technology Awards program is a prestigious award which identifies and honors the most innovative organizations and individuals involved in creating technologies that have impacts in the real world.

"It is wonderful to have been nominated for this Prize, which clearly demonstrates our position as an innovative leader in the changing biotechnology industry" said Ulf Nehrbass, CEO of Institut Pasteur Korea. “This honor is expected to help inspire new avenues of research and development toward accelerating drug discovery in the global biotechnology sphere.”

The World Technology Awards have been presented annually since 2000 to the outstanding innovators from each sector within the science and technology arena for innovative work of the greatest likely long-term significance. Winners are selected by peers’ votes on their preferences from among the nomination pool. Award categories range from communications, biotechnology, space and energy through to ethics, design and entertainment.
