2017-05-10
Pangyo, Gyeonggi, 10 May, 2017 | Institut Pasteur Korea (IPK, CEO: Wang-Shick Ryu) seeks enthusiastic undergraduate students for its 2017 summer internship program. Ideal candidates will have a scholastic focus in science, medicine or biology and a strong desire to learn about scientific research and early drug discovery. The recruitment period is open from 10 ~ 28 May. A total of 12 undergraduates will be selected for the internship program starting 26 Jun, 2017 ~ 18 Aug, 2017.

During the eight-week program, held during the summer break, students will be treated as functioning members of the IPK team. Students work directly with researchers on actual ongoing projects to learn the roles and responsibilities of the profession and gain practical work experience in their relevant field of study. Dr. Wang-Shick Ryu, CEO of IPK says “A benefit of an IPK internship is the mentoring program. This internship can be a pathfinder to a future career in research.” He adds, “Undergraduate students in science and research areas have a chance to learn about the scientific approach and mind so they can enhance their understanding of science and research.” Each student is paired with a senior researcher for individual professional and academic mentorship. Successful interns will make valuable contacts and gain experience at a well known global research institution.

Since the program’s inception in 2009, about 130 undergraduate students from various universities in Korea have benefited from an internship at IPK.
