Institut Pasteur Korea held a University of Science and Technology (UST) campus tour
On March 29, Institut Pasteur Korea (IPK) held a University of Science and Technology (UST) campus tour, hosting around 15 students interested in pursuing a career in the biomedical field through the UST Master’s, Doctoral, and Integrated programs. Invited students had the opportunity to meet with the faculty members and tour the UST-IPK campus.

Opening the program, Dr. Youngmee Jee, the CEO of IPK, warmly greeted the students with a welcoming message. Dr. Sangchul Lee, Head of the Strategic Planning Team, introduced IPK’s role and efforts in improving global public health, including its drug repositioning research for quick discovery of COVID-19 therapeutics, multifaceted international collaboration through the Pasteur Network, as well as global cooperation responding to pandemic through leading international organizations, such as the WHO.
Next, UST-IPK campus faculty members Prof. Haengran Seo (Head of the Advanced Biomedical Research Lab), Prof. Seungtaek Kim (Head of the Zoonotic Virus Lab), and Prof. Regis Grailhe (Head of the Technology Development Platform) presented the areas of research and current work of their teams. Afterwards, the students took a tour of each professor’s lab and were given further explanations of the team’s research activities, technology, and infrastructure. In particular, students freely interacted with professors and the researchers during the lab tour, inquiring about details of the research field and seeking advice on a career as master’s and doctoral researchers.
The UST-IPK campus is accepting applications for Master’s, Doctorate, and Integrated programs in the Division of Bio-Medical Science & Technology for the biological chemistry specialization. The admission for the second half of 2022 is open till April 6th.
